The return by Fernando Sorrentino

Summary

This story is about a young man called Fernando who was the only witness of an accidental murder. He was looking through the window to his neighbor’s houses: Don Cesareo and Bernasconi family.

This family had three daughters, the eldest was Adriana and Fernando was in love with her. While he was looking through his window he could see Don Cesareo having a discussion with a beggar, Don Cesareo pushed him and the beggar fell down hitting his head and dying.

Fernando never said anything to anybody about what happened that day. After 3 years Adriana was pregnant, she had a boy and named him Gustavo.

One day Fernando saw the beggar again entering to Adriana’s house so he felt worry and he thought that the beggar was there because of revenge, reincarnating in the baby. Finally the child killed Don Cesareo with a rock and the beggar went out of the house and the child disappears.

Opinion

I loved this story because since the begging it catches me. With all the details I could feel like if I was in the story. I never thought it would end in that way. It exceeded my expectations
